What does it mean to really follow God? What does it mean to be faithful to Him?

 

 

it seems that in thsi world we have so many that give Him "lip service". But rarely give Him "active" service.

 

 

We have many that just go through the motions. They go to church. they "say" they believe. But when it comes to the core of their belief. They do not live what they say they beleive.

 

They think that because they go to chruch. or because they go through the motions. that thsi vindicates them with God. They have little real "heart change" (from who they use to be) in their faith. 

 

Instead of being "molded" (Jn 15:1-2), conformed (Romans 8:29) into who God would have them be (for more info click here: The "reality" of the real Christian life!). They do not change much from the time before they believed.

 

Now, growth in our faith takes time. But we seriosuly have to question ourselves when there is no growth at all!

 

The only time we should stop growing is when the Lord has taken us home!

 

 

And sadly enough these same "lukewarm" people. Are the same type of ones that the Lord had a problem with in Revelations. The church of the Laodiceans:

 

“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."

 

             (Revelation 3:14-16 NKJV)

 

 

They did not take their faith seriously. And they trusted in themselves and their material things. Much like many do today in the church! Sound familar?

 

And it is so sad that one day. Many who do not really follow the Lord. Will ultimately find out. That they did not deceive Him!

 

 "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life."

He sees all:

 

  "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

 

                         (Hebrews 4:13 NKJV)

 

But yet these same people. they seem to walk aorund without a clue! They do nto realize that the clsoer they get to the lord. the mor ethey will knwo him intimately. The way we were meant to!

 

But yet these same people/ They seem to have such a hard time. Just being silent and realizing who God is:

 

 "Be still, and know that I am God;
          I will be exalted among the nations,
          I will be exalted in the earth!"
